CREATING LARGE LEATHER PANELS

WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE?

As artists and designers we are able to custom make and bespoke wall panels and interior furnishings using our creative expertise, using processes including cnc machining, hand sculpting or hand painting. These skills combined with our deep knowledge of leather, substrates and industry regulations mean that endless possibilities can be achieved. Given our in depth knowledge of art historical contexts and our love of observation and experimentation, we are excited by enquiries for any type of design brief as there are endless possibilities dependent on the client’s needs.

Sculpted relief has decorated the most revered of mankind’s places from the earliest Mesopotamian palaces, Egyptian tombs and through to the Greek and Roman era. These have been hewn from solid rock to communicate ancient stories and to decorate and commemorate. We aim for a similar gravitas and luxuriousness of surface, but with the warmth and texture that leather can give.

We have been developing designs that give a nod to this classical past, but bring a modern dimension. We have been hand sculpting natural forms in experimental pieces that have been developed from our Garden Design and planting knowledge and visits to many gardens and temples in the Uk and Japan. These can have a variety of leather surfaces applied to suit taste and colour palette, though Natalie’s deep knowledge means that the correct leather is selected for the safety needs and for the expert and technical application and manipulation.

At the same time we have been developing a range of modernist designs inspired by post war and contemporary architecture.

Abstracted and developed from our own drawings and photography of architectural spaces, the relief suggests an actual depth within the pieces that can interact with the surrounding environment in interesting ways. These can be enlarged up to a large scale as part of a bespoke wall to wall installation in panels that can be up to 2m by 1.5m in size.

Our marquetry designs are made using sustainable vegetable tanned leathers from Italy, managed by The Italian Consortium to ensure it’s eco credentials
