Hand painted leather marquetry artwork inspired by the empty basement rooms of The Pompidou Centre in Paris.
Until 30 September, the fourth edition of Homo Faber Biennial brings together over 500 talented artisans, from more than 70 countries and their 700 inspiring objects.
At its heart is a fundamental truth: the importance of the relationship between light, materials and the hand that shapes them.
Staged by Artistic Director Es Devlin, the exhibition unfolds across Fondazione Giorgio Cini, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, and the wider city of Venice, giving visitors the chance to see craftsmanship as essential, alive and constantly evolving.
