This piece was a study made en plein air in Golden Valley on the Ashridge Estate. I came across this quiet, idyllic passage while out walking and only later discovered that it was designed by Capability Brown. This study was all about capturing the colour & texture of the grasses & trees with the impending heavier skies threatening beyond.
